Project Name: Racing Pigs
Problem Statement:
There
is very less job possibility in the camp so that some of the refugees usually
go outside the camp and look for jobs. They have many problems going to work
outside the camp for their survives and it causes many problems as well such as
drugs, alcohol, diseases, and fights. Working with NGOs and CBOs in the camp
cannot help them have adequate income for their families as TBBC is now
reducing giving rations so that they have to take a risk working outside the
camp. In fact, it is a very serious
concern for the students as some students also go outside the camp to work as
they are having difficulties in their families.
Therefore,
as we are students, we do not have time to go to work outside the camp to get
some income for ourselves and families. And, we realize it can be dangerous for
us so that we would like to hand us a hand to foster our livelihood skills and
manage our significant time well during studying.
Goals:
1.
To make ourselves reliable by practicing to do
this project racing pigs.
2.
To realize good ways to get income and to be
able to use our significant time properly.
3.
To help us with our house expense as we are
students and we have no income.
4.
To be able to use our left over in our houses
properly to feed pigs.
Objectives:
As our project racing pigs is well organized,
we are going to implement our project by taking responsibilities in turns. One
will take responsibilities for one day in turns to make ourselves respect our
roles and responsibilities well. Moreover, we are going to feed the pigs twice
a day. Before school, we will feed them once at 8:00 o’clock in the morning and
the other time will be at 4:00 in the afternoon. Simultaneously, while feeding
them, we will clean them and the pigsty well. And, if needed, we will order
food for them and we, on the other hand, will try our best to look for some
rough food for the pigs in the camp.
Activities:
Our
project will take place in the section-4.We will try to finish building our
pigsty in November 2012 and we are going to start racing two pigs at the week
of December, 2012 so that we can sell one of them in May 2013 to be able to buy
a new pig and get some income. We are going to buy food the pig left and the
new pig with some money from selling our pig. In fact, we are going to run our
project by selling pigs and rebuying them for our sustainability to run our
project racing pigs. Then If we have some money left, we are going to divide
the some money left to share. And, we are going to sell the old pig in
November, 2013 so that we can run on our project for long term.
Outcome:
We will gain some good livelihood skills by
having this project and we can also get some income for our family. And, we
will be able to manage our time and things well. By racing pigs to get some
income as students, we can be role moderns for the communities and we can
inspire them to gain some good livelihood skills and get some income by doing
some projects in the camp without taking a risk going outside the camp to work,
especially students. It will be very helpful for them. Moreover, they will gain
many skills. It can reduce drug problems as well so that our camp will be with
full of peace.
